Lunar simulant composites
Exploring LHS-1 lunar simulant, sand and epoxy through specimen preparation, compression testing and fracture observations.
- Recorded evidence
- 4 physical compression results
- Highest peak load
- 20.50 kN within this sample set
No formulation replicates. Resin and sand content co-varied. Lunar service suitability was not demonstrated.

My contribution. Specimen preparation and compression testing, followed by interpretation of fracture observations and SEM imagery with specialist support.
What the data can say. Four physical test records provide a preliminary comparison. Calculated substitute rows are excluded from the experiment count. The evidence does not establish an optimum formulation.
Next step. Reconcile laboratory recipes and specimen dimensions, repeat controlled formulations, then consider relevant environmental testing.
